There’s Treasure in Them Thar Hills!

I love tradition. I love that tradition can take many forms. I love that tradition can sometimes show up at the most unexpected moments in time. Tradition is what we pass down to the next generation. I have a lot of traditions…

Treasure is a tradition.

What is treasure? Moab is a treasure. And treasure has been hidden in Moab. It’s not for you. Unless you get there first. As it turns out, an old friend and fellow treasure hunter will be heading through Moab on his own SW adventure with his dudes, so treasure had to be hidden.

When hiding treasure there are a few questions that need to be answered… what and where are the obvious ones. But there are other considerations. This post is not about getting technical, but rather passing along thoughts and possibly some knowledge – but that is yet to be determined.

Treasure hint one

What is the treasure? Well, the hunt first and foremost. The contents, a distant, sure, but a distant second. As I said previously, it’s all about the journey and not the destination. When on a quest for treasure, I think it’s all about the hunt and not the prize at the end of the rainbow.

Treasure = Knowledge.

I guess the point of this post is too say go on a treasure hunt. If you don’t want to do that, go bury some treasure. It doesn’t matter what it is, but leave something behind for the next person (s) or generation (s) to discover that leaves them in a better place than before they started their journey.

Living my own private Jurassic Park!

I had a very interesting couple of days in the back country that I will write about after I’ve had more of an opportunity to process the last 24 hours. It might be the broader lesson that we all discovered along this journey.

Cheers from the road.
